Trailblazer CYP interns will primarily serve in the U.S. Navy’s Child Development Centers with secondary support to School Age Care, Teen Programs, and Youth Sports Programs.
Child Development Centers
Assist with the implementation of planned activities for infants from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Provide individualized learning in a fun, inclusive and engaging environment to meet the needs of each child. CDCs are nationally accredited through National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
School Age Care Centers
Provide quality out-of-school activities for children in kindergarten through 12 years old. Implement activities aligned with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and 4-H programs to engage children in recreational programs before and after school along with summer months.
Teen Programs
Programs affiliated with Boys & Girls Club of America and 4-H programming for pre-teens and teens. Provides activities encouraging character development, leadership skills, communication and self-esteem.
Youth Sports Programs
Our youth sports programs are affiliated with the National Alliance for Youth Sports for Children and Teens and they help Navy families balance the demands of family life and military readiness by providing opportunities for children to engage in rewarding physical activity and by exposing children to positive lifestyle behaviors.
